    Hi guys, my name is Mario, the fabulous inn-keeper,
    I live in Monteriggioni, do you

    know where it is? It is close to Siena, just in the middle of Tuscany.
    Here we people are all friends, the weather is good, we cook as it should be, we eat and drink as it was once upon a time, and we also go often around for pleasant walks together ..

    WHERE IT IS
    Siena is such a treasure of beauties that it is difficult to choose one. But, at least to me, there is one thing, which is really special and unique, a part from being enchanting: it is Campo Square.
    FRIENDS
    On nineteenth of March is Saint Joseph's day, the holiday of all the fathers and the carpenters. In Siena the nineteenth is the last day to eat fritters. Since a month, or more, you can find street-shops selling rice's fritters just ready and hot.
    WE COOK
    In winter we use to eat very often, every lunch and every dinner, the
    Bread soup and the ribollita

    WE EAT
    In my house we use to have the same things we had when I was a boy, in winter, during the olive harvesting, we used to have polenta.

    ONCE UPON A TIME
    Festival were organised in the villages and especially uring the nice seasons it was easy to go there because we moved around by feet. But if there was something left to do in the fields we had to stay home.

    The salame to slice for Easter

    In my house for the Easter dinner we use to "malrimettere", to begin to slice a salame. It is eaten with hard-boiled eggs and bread, at the beginning of the lunch, as good wishes to all people standing around the table.
